The Opportunity
Our MedTech client is undergoing a significant global cost transformation program, with a strong focus on IT category savings. As part of this initiative, we are seeking an experienced Interim IT Procurement Lead to execute a high-impact IT Professional Services (PS) and Managed Service Provider (MSP) RFP, targeting $11M+ in run-rate savings.
This is a highly visible role requiring deep IT Services market expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and proven commercial negotiation capability at scale.
Role Overview
As the Interim IT Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of a global IT PS and MSP RFP, launching in early February. Working closely with senior IT leadership, you will shape requirements, design the RFP, leverage market intelligence, and lead negotiations through to contract execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute IT PS and MSP RFP targeting $11M+ in run-rate savings
- Launch RFP and lead requirements development with senior IT stakeholders
- Provide market and supplier intelligence to inform RFP scope and design
- Develop and execute supplier negotiation strategies
- Lead and support negotiations through to contract award and execution
- Engage with global stakeholders and support cross-regional client calls as required
Required Experience & Profile
Must Have:
- Typically 8–10 years of directly relevant experience (less considered for exceptional candidates)
- Ideally you will have operated as an Interim IT Procurement Lead in other organisations
- Experience operating in a senior role, managing teams and delivering against competing priorities
- Proven responsibility for technology spend portfolios exceeding $50M per annum
- Strong ability to think and operate globally, with awareness of global IT market developments
- Willingness and ability to support client calls across multiple geographies
Deep Subject Matter Expertise (Required)
Candidates must be a deep SME in at least one of the following:
IT Services
- Extensive experience negotiating large, complex, global IT services deals
- Demonstrated success delivering strong commercial and operational outcomes
- Clear understanding of key value levers and how to apply them effectively
- Deep market knowledge, including major providers and challenger organizations
- Strong understanding of market trends, M&A activity, and implications for clients
- Experience leading and developing teams across multiple US geographies
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs
Ideal (Highly Desirable) Experience
- Consulting background or extensive experience working alongside consultants
- Demonstrated ambition to operate at a global level and elevate procurement standards
- Responsibility for technology spend portfolios exceeding $200M per annum
- Proven senior relationships with major IT suppliers and executive decision-makers
- Ability to apply bespoke commercial levers based on supplier-specific models
- Example: deep understanding of ServiceNow licensing models (fulfiller vs. requestor)
- Strong passion for leadership and talent development, including early talent identification
Nice to Have
- Experience in global transformation or cost take-out programs
- Exposure to MedTech, Life Sciences, or highly regulated industries
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams
