Are you an experienced procurement commercial consultant looking to take ownership of high-impact contracts within a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment? This is a unique opportunity to lead on strategic consultancy spend and play a key role in delivering major organisational change.
The Role
As the Procurement Commercial Lead, you will act as the primary commercial authority for professional services, with a strong emphasis on consultancy. You will take ownership of a major Strategic Delivery Partner contract and oversee a dynamic pipeline of Statements of Work (SoWs).
This role sits at the heart of transformation activity, working closely with senior stakeholders and ensuring commercial outcomes align with organisational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement and commercial management of a high-value consultancy contract
- Act as contract owner for a key Strategic Delivery Partner supporting transformation programmes
- Manage a high volume of SoWs, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and business objectives
- Oversee deliverables, performance tracking, and supplier accountability
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the Transformation Directorate Support additional procurement activities, including ad-hoc consultancy sourcing via frameworks
- Contribute to related categories such as legal services, contingent labour, and HR (as required)
- Potentially manage and develop team members (subject to confirmation)
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in procurement commercial management, ideally within professional or consultancy services
- Proven track record managing complex, high-value contracts
- Experience operating in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with senior leaders
- Ability to manage urgent demand with limited forward visibility
- Understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and governance (desirable)
Procurement Commercial Lead – Contract Details
- Duration: 12-month initial contract (covering a temporary promotion)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Location: Kilburn, London (hybrid working, typically 2–3 days on-site)
- Flexibility: Occasional travel to other locations as required
- Interview Process: Single-stage, face-to-face interview preferred
Vetting Requirements
- Mandatory clearance: CTC and NPPV2
- Candidates must be eligible for vetting (fast-track may be requested but is not guaranteed)
- Standard vetting timelines may apply (potentially several months)
