The Procurement Hive are partnering with a leading organisation that provides services into the travel industry. We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager with experience of buying Food & Beverages (F&B). In particular, we’re interested in professionals with wine buying experience.

This is a permanent position, with a working pattern that enables you to work remotely on a Monday and a Friday, but there is the need for you to be based in the Luxembourg office Tuesday – Thursday.

As the newly appointed Category Manager, you’ll report into the Retail Procurement Director and have responsibility for leading 2 x Junior Category Managers.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Ensure cost-efficient sourcing within the category, according to specifications.
  • Continuously monitor and extend understanding of assigned categories, incl. spends, suppliers, products, market structure, price trends vs. paid prices, commodity forecasts, competitive dynamics, trends, demand management levers and risks.
  • Translate savings targets into sourcing plan and develop short- and long-term supply strategies to achieve targets.
  • Execute sourcing strategies using strategic sourcing process (build and analyses RFPs, bid evaluation and other analytical models; lead negotiations in line with strategic objectives; ensuring implementation of results).
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts and contract updates with suppliers based on defined pricing and quality targets and ensure required confirmation and documentation.
  • Devise & steer corrective actions in case of deviations to total cost of the overall supply chain strategy.
  • Develop procedures to reduce supplier and procurement risk including supplier audits and credit checks.
  • Optimise order management and processes to handle goods and services, e. g. via e-procurement solution.
  • Responsibility for relevant spend and content data for own categories.
  • Participate, contribute and/or steer in group wide or regional projects.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Segment supply base and develop supplier portfolio to enable competitive, quality & timely response to the customer market.
  • Develop and manage key suppliers in line with SRM methodology; integrate supplier expertise as appropriate to deliver strategy with focus on cost, product & process improvement; steer the contracting of related product portfolio processes.
  • Monitor and enhance ongoing performance of suppliers; identify and mitigate risks relating to suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits working closely with Quality team during supplier evaluation process.
  • Guide & implement the transition of new supplier introductions managing all stakeholders to ensure successful launch.
  • Implement supplier framework agreement with strategic suppliers with support from Legal, manage contract duration and contract data base.

Demand Management:

  • Create transparency, analyse, and understand all sources of spend and demand, e. g. segment spend and create spend portfolios.
  • Leverage knowledge of the organisation and suppliers to deploy specification and demand levers and generate innovations from the supply market.
  • Development and improvement of required goods and service portfolio, e.g., standardisation, simplification, re-specification.

Team Management/ Leadership:

  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organised.
  • Functional lead of assigned buyers in different legal entities in Europe.
  • Support implementation of processes, procedures, principles, guidelines, and systems to comply with corporate and regional standards and objectives and to increase performance and quality of procurement.
  • Secure and foster internal communication.
  • Ensure and coordinate activities to support success of category management by working cross functionally with stakeholders and suppliers.

**German and English language is a must.
